These trees are inappropriately named; while the buds are obviously not blue or yellow or green, they're certainly not "red." Why not "lavenderbud" or "purplebud" or "pinky-purplebud"?

Yes, I took this one with CruxPhotos in mind. In the foreground is a thorny locust tree, and in the background is a very blurred Heritage Center building at Homestead National Monument of America. I figured that the colors and shapes of the building would provide an interesting background to the thorns, and I think I was right!
