Homestead fence, autumn

Photography is all about light. In the harsh light of mid-day, I leave my camera at home. But early in the morning, or late afternoon, the lower light angle creates magic and beauty.
We're fortunate to live within a mile of the Homestead National Monument of America [ http://www.nps.gov/home/index.htm ] This backlit fall scene is from that natural and historical setting. The original photo won "Best Use of Light" and "Best in Show" ribbons in a local photo contest.
