
The climate-controlled, limited-access room in Milan, Italy, that holds Da Vinci's
Last Supper does not allow flash photography. I had no tripod, but managed some pictures of the famous painting by resting my camera on a railing. This kaleidosocope cross (fitting for the occasion the artist was portraying) features Jesus around the crux (!) of the cross and John (or is it Mary Magdalene?) at the bottom. You can see why Dan Brown and his
Da Vinci Code are not the first to look at this image and wonder . . .
