Suppose you were looking for a bridge designer, and two of your finalists were Antonio da Ponte and Michelangelo. Who would you pick? Antonio da Ponte, of course, whose name means "Anthony of the Bridge." But I wonder what this bridge over Venice's Grand Canal would look like if Michelangelo had gotten the contract.
