Electric Power Pole

Perhaps it's silly to make a cross out of a cross, but this electric power pole near Schuyler, Nebraska, was basking in the morning sun, just begging to be photographed. This particular pole supported the wires as they made the transition from above-ground to buried cables below ground.

This preaches pretty well: The cross is a symbol of power--the power of enemy-love and of suffering . . . Jesus was crucified above-ground, then was buried, then rose again to new life and new power . . . That power flows through us as well--if we're connected to the grid . . . Perhaps you can come up with some more connections and metaphors; making parables is fun!

My goal today is to make sure that from now on, when you see a power pole or telephone pole, you don't miss the cross.
