Peony Petals

The peony has a long and worldwide history in both medicine and art as well as in horticulture. Chinese and Japanese art in particular have prominently featured this fascinating plant. This is a pinkish-white peony from my back yard. The cross image includes one extra step--the application of a "dry brush" effect. I like this cross, but in this case I like the original photo even better.
